E Chapter 1: [Voyage] – the unknown

As he opened his eyes, he realized that the world had changed from what he had known.

Lynn fainted as usual after being bullied one day. This is something he has on a regular basis, and it’s not unusual for him to wake up in the morning and begin his school life from the school’s backyard. It’s not like the teacher would be interested in an orphan like him.

In fact, nearly no one at school cared about him.

He couldn’t just leave the class, no matter how upset he was. He needs to do his best in school since he needs to study more to help his sister.

But he can’t study as hard as he used to. because he is trapped in the middle of nowhere in an unknown area.

“What am I doing?”

People were staring at him when he opened his eyes.

“Cap’n, the brat’s eyes have opened!”

The sudden yell stunned Lynn, and all he could do was gaze at the sailor, who stood intimidatingly close to him.

You may wonder how he knows they’re sailors because the place he awoke in was made of wood. There are also persons dressed in pirate attire similar to those seen in Jack Sparrow films; Lynn, as a Japanese, had to be aware that he is surrounded by pirates.

But how is that possible?

He never went near the shore; in fact, he never went to the sea.

Aside from studying and playing games online, all he does is spend time in his room every day, either reading a novel or watching a TV show.

He recognizes his place as a nerd. Even if he is being bullied, all he can think about is something else; no one can save him from bullying because the teachers are equally frightened of bullying within the school.

Please keep that in mind; children’s bullying is far preferable to adult bullying. Why should there be any better or worse bullying?

That is certainly correct. However, a child will mature as a result of the bullying; some may become degenerate as a result of the trauma, but many will strive to be better than the bully. That is how children develop.

They can survive in the future regardless of their past, as long as they can overcome it and grow better than the person they despise.

We shall now discuss adult bullying.

There is no adult bullying; instead, there is oppression.

I repeat: being an adult disqualifies you from the status of bully. Bullying is a criminal conduct for an adult; a criminal cannot exist in society.

You will be apprehended and imprisoned, or… slaughtered, by your oppressed people.

As adults, people usually have a sense of dignity and sanity that they must retain. A burdened individual who, unable to cope with the seriousness of their surroundings, begins to generate oppression under the cover of “power harassment” or another sort of harassment will eventually fall.

either by their surroundings or their family.

Humans have a finite lifespan, usually not reaching 100 years, but half of that time is spent sleeping or doing trivial things.

Once a certain barrier is crossed, even an hour within those 100 years of life might be hell.

Do you believe that one hour of the oppressor’s misery might be more terrifying than a year of being oppressed?

Without a doubt.

However, we should not discuss this because our Lynn is currently dealing with the incident that occurred to him.

At this point, Lynn was forced to grow.

Can he? That should be the question.

“Wh… Where is this?”

“This is in the middle of the sea? Where else? You’re lucky, kid. We’ve found you floating in the middle of the sea, nearby. Any time later, you’d be a fish feed.”

One of the pirates attempted to scare Lynn away from the event.

Lynn, on the other hand, has never been near the sea. How did he end up drifting in the middle of the ocean?

Is this some new type of bullying?

No way, this is already an act of murder. There’s no way a bunch of middle school bullies will try and do something like murder people.

Knowing that something was wrong with his situation didn’t help Lynn understand it.

Lynn, a typical middle schooler, never expected to be transported to an anime world like One Piece.

He’s not really a fan of the said work, as he only knows several pieces of information his classmate leaked. He never put the story in his mind, so he doesn’t really understand the world or how the story went.

In his mind, Lynn was thinking that he was being abducted and brought to be sold somewhere overseas.

Critically, that’s the only way he could have suddenly appeared in the middle of the sea. There’s also a possibility that he’s currently dreaming, so he stared at the people in his surroundings rudely.

Bam

“Don’t give me that look; although we are pirates, we never deal with human trafficking.” Mind you, kid!”

One of the pirates feels offended by his gaze and correctly reads the mind of the boy.

Stroking his head, Lynn feels pain. which means it’s not a dream.

“Yohohoho! “I see you’re awake now, Kid!”

A man with an afro suddenly appeared with a wide smile. The man is tall; he might’ve been above 2 meters.

That height alone is intimidating for Lynn, and as the man approached, Lynn couldn’t help but feel threatened.

As he backed away, Lynn fell down.

“Gyahaha!”

The pirates laughed out loud at the sad sight; they couldn’t help but mock the 14-year-old boy.

“Boy, you’re not manly enough!” “You’re scared of the vice captain?”

“I know he’s scary; he’s a 30 pirate after all; there’s no way a kid like him can stand his pressure alone!”

“Oy, oy, oy. That’s hurtful; how can this gentleman be called scary? aren’t you guys mocking me too much now?”

Shaking his head, the man couldn’t help but sigh at his crew’s mocking.

They all have a strong bond as crewmates, despite the fact that they are not strong at sea. They still think of each other as a companion; this is a relationship that people of all ages can have.

However, this kind of feeling wasn’t coming out of nowhere.

They develop a sense of companionship over time because they all look up to each other. They deal with each other with care, and the captain is the one creating the link for the crewmates.

As the captain created the opportunity, the people started their own relationships. From stranger to acquaintance, they eventually feel a sense of brotherhood as they go through various situations together.

This kind of feeling might not develop easily, but once it’s created, it’ll be harder to break.

“Anyway, Kid, Let’s have an introduction for now. I am this pirate crew’s vice captain, Brook. Nice to meet you.”

Brook stated that, while attempting to smile his brightest, he extended his hand to Lynn and assisted the child in standing.

“Tha… thank you…”

Lynn felt it was unexpected that the tall man was actually kind.

“So, where are you from, kid?”

“I… I’m from Japan”

“That’s a new name; do all of you have some knowledge about the place?”

Seeing them shake their heads, the man asked again.

“Which seas were you coming from?”

“Err… Pacific?”

“Huh, where the heck is that place?”

Seeing the scared look on the kid’s face, the man was sure that he would never lie about this since he was also very confused about his whereabouts.

Hearing the kid, the man could only reason that either this kid was thrown in the middle of the sea by something or by some devilish fruit power.

“Oh well, my name is Brook.” Nice to meet you, kid! Yohohoho!” said Brook smile while shuffling Lynn’s hair.

“Guys! “We’ve got a new crew; tonight we’re going to party!”

“Oooo!”

Meeting and parting is a typical thing that happens to sailors, but everything needs to be celebrated to make it official.

Knowing this, the people get ready for their merry party, bringing booze and music as well as food to the deck, singing out loud while introducing themselves to Lynn.

Of course, the boy feels apprehensive towards the easy-going but scary pirate, but after being forced to drink the alcohol, he got loose and started to shout like a maniac.

“FUCK THOSE BISH!” IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A FIGHT, WHY NOT FIGHT THOSE YOUR SIZE!”

“That’s right! That’s right, fuck those bish!”

“IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH HAVING A DEAD FATHER AND A MISSING MOTHER?!?”

“There’s nothing wrong with that!”

“Exactly!”

The majority of pirates are orphans or have broken families and live in dumps. They gained freedom by traveling around the world on the boat and following their captain. At Lynn’s shouting, most of them understood what the child felt and experienced.

“Mumble, mumble, mumble!”

“That’s right!”

“Oy, what’s right?” the kid’s wasted.”

“Oh, whatever it is, he’s right!”

As they continued their merrymaking, the vice-captain headed inside the ship. walking slowly to the corridor and knocking on the door.

“Captain, we’ve got new crewmates…”
