“Nurfufufu, it’s an honor to have the God’s Hand meet me here,” the yellow blob said, tentacles together and eyes squinted. The mysterious figure, Koro-sensei, was actually performing well, having received confirmation from his trusted subordinate, Karasuma, and a recommendation from an old acquaintance who had begged him to help the survivor of the human experimentation.
“Remove the mask, Reaper. I don’t want to do business with you, and I’d prefer not to deal with your kind, but I owe something to the head of Kunugigaoka, and one of my subordinates asked me to do this. So, I’ll do my best to save you.”
The octopus stopped his act and gave a straightforward answer, his face turning pale. “I’ve already diagnosed myself and marked myself as beyond saving. I initiated this experiment and don’t really expect to be rescued…”
Lynn noticed kids peeking into the classroom, eager to listen to their favorite teacher. “Look over there, Reaper. I don’t care what you think, but I’ll try my best since this is a request from my subordinate and someone I’m indebted to. So, keep quiet while I treat you…” Lynn pointed to the classroom’s windows, ceiling, and door.
“Understood, Nurufufufu. But please, don’t break your promise and kill me!” The octopus sat down on the bed as Lynn hit him lightly on the head.
From his past experiences, Lynn had never encountered anything like this before—an abomination with a body destroyed by unknown forces and a vessel to contain immense power. While Brook had spoken of Devil Fruits, this was something entirely different.
Lynn collected a sample from the octopus and examined it in the lab, trying to understand the anomaly. He needed to review the research paper from Yanagisawa Kotaro. Despite trying acupuncture and other oriental medicine, Lynn found that Koro-sensei’s body, resembling the consistency of Tom and the Fishmen from Water Seven, was somewhat familiar.
“This means the knowledge I gained from the Grand Line is proving useful here,” Lynn concluded. “I understand what’s happening to your body and can prevent further degradation, but I still don’t know how to save you.”
“Really? I’ve read every book on medicine, including Oriental ones, but nothing comes close to my affliction. Are you sure you’re not trying to assassinate me?”
“Keep your doubts to yourself, octopus. I’ve sworn to stop killing and focus solely on saving lives. That’s why I refused the higher-ups’ orders to eliminate you, so don’t question my intentions,” Lynn replied before leaving the room.
“I’ll personally deliver the prescribed medicine tomorrow to ensure it’s not tampered with. Keep the children in check so I don’t have to deal with them, Octopus…” Lynn added as he exited the classroom and returned to his office.
The students in Class E, upon seeing the unfamiliar middle-aged man, grew suspicious. The blue-haired boy, Shiota Nagisa, asked, “Who’s that man? Karasuma-sensei seems very respectful, and even Miss Vitch looks frightened.”
Akabane Karma, the red-haired boy, shrugged, indicating he was also unaware of the man’s identity. Class E students were puzzled until they saw their rivals from Class A approaching the man with red faces, eagerly seeking autographs and engaging in conversation.
“This is the first time I’ve seen Class A come here in such a large group…” Nagisa mumbled, shocked by the sight.
“Hey, it looks like they know who he is. Let’s find out more from them,” Karma suggested, noting that the Class A students were led by the principal’s son.
The Class E students quickly abducted Gakushu Asano, the principal’s son, to inquire about the man. “Typical of Class E’s failures, not knowing about the legend himself. Ha!” Gakushu taunted them.
“This brat…”
“Anyway, how can you not know about the God’s Hand? Every aspiring doctor looks up to him. He’s even appeared on several shows; he’s that famous…”
“God’s Hand?”
“Yes, the world’s number one surgeon and medical expert…”
“Huh? I feel like I’ve heard of him before…”
“Is there someone with such a fatal illness that even Mister Lynn had to come personally?”
“Ugh… well, that’s classified.”
Gakushu attempted to extract any information he could but was kicked away as soon as he provided the details they wanted. However, he was certain Lynn would return, and he planned to keep a close watch for his second visit.
Meanwhile, the students of Class E began gathering all available information about the enigmatic figure known as the God’s Hand, both online and offline.
“One report says he’s a 40-year-old medic from the army, renowned worldwide for his medical skills and holder of over three doctorates. Despite his fame, he’s refused numerous offers to move abroad, choosing instead to serve his country. He doesn’t seek publicity and avoids unwanted attention, which is why only those in his field or aspiring to join it know of him. Apart from being a year younger than our principal and the boss of teacher Karasuma, I didn’t find anything else,” reported one girl.
“Creating cures for various diseases and improving medical drugs to prevent cancer and other fatal illnesses, he’s also been nominated for the Nobel Prize six times… Wow, this person is amazing,” Karma remarked.
“I found that Sadogashima Lynn dropped out of junior high school at 14. The reason for this is unknown, as the information from that time isn’t up to date. Is there something suspicious about this?” Nagisa pondered.
“That’s right. I understand that Karasuma respects him since he’s his superior, but why is Miss Vitch also afraid of him? Is he someone extraordinarily strong?”
“What a mystery. Should we ask Miss Vitch about this?”
“Let’s do that.”
The students decided to visit Vitch, the former assassin who had once tried to eliminate Koro-sensei using a honey trap but failed.
“That man? Why do you want to know?” Vitch asked.
“Obviously because we’re suspicious of him!” one student replied.
“Keep away from him; he’s incredibly intimidating. I never expected to see him here…” Vitch sighed.
“How do you know about him, Vitch-sensei?” Nagisa asked.
“Ah, are you trying to honey trap him and get him to relocate to another country but failed?” Karma inquired.
Vitch squinted at the students and refused to answer. Knowing she wouldn’t provide any more information, they decided to seek Karasuma instead.
“He’s my commander and master in martial training… that’s all I know. The details you’ve uncovered are the extent of what I know. Vitch should know more, but since she won’t share, you’ll have to ask the man himself,” Karasuma said.
“Will he even answer us?”
“Who knows? You can try asking him yourself if you want,” Karasuma shrugged.
Interrogating the suspicious man directly seemed unfeasible, so they turned their attention to Koro-sensei for further insights.
“Sadogashima Lynn is a monster,” Koro-sensei declared.
“How can you call him a monster when you look like one yourself?” one student retorted.
“I might look like a monster, but he’s a monster with human skin. Karasuma-sensei didn’t mention that Sadogashima Lynn is a General in the Army, which is a well-hidden fact. I only learned about it because someone from the lab, who cooperates with the army, mentioned it. His exploits in war zones are legendary, so much so that even an assassin like me has heard about him. Several people attempted to assassinate him, but those who had their lives saved by the God’s Hand eliminated the assassins before I could take on the mission…”
“He killed them himself?”
“No, not directly. The assassins learned of the commission and felt obligated to protect their savior. They acted out of gratitude for their lives being saved by him.”
“Wow… that’s impressive.”
“What’s intriguing is how the country itself tried to obscure his existence. Though I could search for more information now, in the past, no one would share his story. There should be more hidden if one seeks it…”
The yellow octopus spoke, continuously changing colors.
“It’s not that no one would tell the story; they simply forgot…”
The headmaster of Kunugigaoka appeared behind the group, moving slowly towards them.
“Headmaster!” the octopus exclaimed, surprised by his superior’s sudden appearance.
With the speed of sound, he moved around, serving treats and tea to the headmaster like a diligent servant. The students watched with mixed expressions but shifted their focus when Karma asked, “What do you mean by ‘forgot,’ Headmaster?”
Gakushu Asano, the current headmaster, sipped his tea and gazed out the window as he reminisced about his time teaching there. Then he replied, “The events occurred so rapidly and were so frightening that those who knew preferred to forget them as soon as possible. The truth behind the events remains obscure since the victims were notorious bullies at the school…”
“I see, so it happened quickly, within a day or less…” Koro-sensei said, summarizing the headmaster’s explanation.
“That’s right. According to my research, it all happened within a quarter of a day. A second-grade middle schooler, younger than you all by a year, killed 30 people cold-bloodedly and maimed four students.”
